Chimney Pot Park

Performance Doorset Solutions have supplied over 400 bespoke doors in a contract to supply the Urban Splash Housing regeneration scheme at Chimney Pot Park in Langworthy, Salford. The scheme, aimed at First time buyers turns the famous “Coronation Street” terraces into modern, desirable and affordable living accommodation.

The specification process took three months to create a bespoke product with which the client was happy and which suited the scheme. The timber composite doorsets were fully factory finished in black and designed to meet Secured by Design standards.

The design also incorporates automatic engaging locks and customised ironmongery and has a contemporary, minimal look in keeping with the overall Urban Splash styling for the scheme. One of the benefits of the doors being fully factory finished and prehung, is that they will be immediately fully protected from the elements and will save labour time in hanging on site.

PDS further facilitated a suitable subcontractor to fit the door sets across a phased installation programme, with around 150 fitted to date. The remainder will be delivered on demand to meet the build programme over the coming months. The Urban Splash philosophy is to retain original features and enhance them by combining with new technologies, a philosophy which PDS can relate to.
